A respite after running the Smog Loop

Got some work done recently on my car, and my mechanic cleared my computer. I tried to get it smogged the day I got it back and failed due to the OBD systems not being ready. I was given instructions on how to get all the systems prepped, so today I did it. I ran CA-23S, to US-101N, and back on the SR-126E, to Fillmore. From here, I went over Grimes Canyon, as it becomes 23S there. This route took me the opposite route of the incredibly devastating Thomas fire burned a few weeks ago. Looking north towards Ojai, the hillsides are still charred black, and I was able to see how browningly close the fire came to some houses.

Easier fix just move to an area where getting a smog check is not required

Awesome road! I used to live a few miles south in Moorpark and would make frequent trips to Fillmore.

The positioning of the camera makes this look blisteringly fast lol. I’ve driven 23 up that way through that pass last March, it was a lot greener! I’ve been meaning to make my way up there again at some point. I run Decker, the other end of 23, all the time. Just a great road.

Also, I’ve put together an email list of oppos in the LA area. I’ve got a solid half dozen so far. Let me know if you’re interested in being added to that list!

Yeah! Last winter we got totally washed away with rain, which was why the Thomas fire was so bad.

Well its pretty hard to burn dirt since that is probably all that is left of the trees. I dont believe there are currently any fires burning, but recent fires tend to leave a mess for driving. I will certainly be checking it out soon though.
